Piccin Nuova Libraria S.p.a., with registered office at via Altinate 107, Padua, Italy (the “Company”, “we”), in its quality of Data Controller, pursuant to Section 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196, June 30, 2003 (Italian Data Protection Code) and to EU Reg. no. 2016/679, wishes to inform you about nature and purposes of the processing of your personal data collected through the registration process on our platform.

NATURE AND PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING OPERATIONS 

Your data will be used in accordance with the principles of necessity, legality, fairness, proportionality and transparency to grant you access to our platform www.biomedicineandprevention.com, which allows Authors to upload and submit to the online journal scientific articles and essays. The e-mail address you will provide during the registration process will also be processed to send you our periodic newsletter and other promotional communications related to new scientific publications.

Your data (namely, your name and surname, company name and job description), will be used to accompany your articles and essays published on the journal and to circulate and further publish such essays and articles.

Your data will be stored as long as the articles and essays written by you will remain available on our online journal.

Personal data will be processed in accordance to the current regulations, including EU Regulation no. 679/2016, and in any case in such a way as to ensure security and confidentiality of data and to prevent their disclosure or unauthorized use, alteration or destruction.

The Company may resort to third parties for certain processing activities. Third parties that perform these activities have been carefully selected, they are experienced, capable, trustworthy and they offer sufficient guarantees that they abide by the applicable laws and regulations that regulate data processing, including the security profile of such data.

These third parties have been appointed by the Company as Data Processors and/or as Persons in charge of processing. The Company shall periodically monitor that third parties carry out their duties and follow personal data protection measures.

Upon your request, we will notify you by e-mail the updated list of Data Processors.

CONSENT AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE FAILURE TO PROVIDE DATA

The provision of personal data is optional but failure to provide such personal data shall prevent you to complete the registration process to access the features of the platform and shall prevent us to send you our newsletter other potential promotional offers.

Your data will be stored as long as your registered account is active.

RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS

We inform you that the applicable laws grant you specific rights, among which the right to be informed about the existence of your personal data stored by the Company and to know their content and origin, verify their accuracy or request their rectification, integration or updating, or correction (Section 7 of Privacy Code and Articles 15-20 of EU Regulation no. 679/2016).

In accordance with the same Section 7 and to Articles 17 and 18 of the EU Regulation, you are also entitled to request cancellation, erasure, transformation into an anonymous form or blockage of data processed in violation of the law, as well as to oppose the processing of such data for legitimate reasons, and to obtain restriction of processing. You shall also be entitled to receive your personal data currently processed for their portability to another controller, pursuant to Article 20 of EU Regulation no. 679/2916.

At any time, if you no longer wish to receive our newsletter or other communications for advertising purposes, you have the right to revoke your consent.
